Private Business and Non-Profits

Members of the Maine Compost Team are available to assist private business operations with an interest in planning for and implementing  an improved method of unwanted organics management, or providing “troubleshooting” assistance to an existing operation.

Similar assistance is available to non-profits as well.

The focus of the Maine Compost Team is to provide, at no cost, guidance and assistance to those who wish to develop an organics management system that will successfully address both their needs and lead to the recovery of the value in unwanted organics.

Many existing privately operated composting businesses routinely send their new employees to the week-long Maine Compost School, as part of their training, to provide them with the basics of composting and systems, and to work towards receiving the Certificate of Technical Ability, which many states require of a composting facility as part of the state’s licensing process.
